The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest clock still operating.

It has been the main church of this part of the city since the 14th century.

The tower, which was the highest in the city in the Middle Ages, was completed in 1364, and has been largely unchanged since then.

We went looking for the entrance for Our Lady Before Tyn and walked all the way around before finding a modest entryway amongst the shops that surround most of the building.

Jan Hus Memorial

he huge monument depicts victorious Hussite warriors and Protestants who were forced into exile 200 years after Hus in the wake of the lost Battle of the White Mountain during the Thirty Years' War, and a young mother who symbolises national rebirth. Born in 1369, Hus became an influential religious thinker, philosopher, and reformer in Prague. He was a key predecessor to the Protestant movement of the sixteenth century.

Judah Loew ben Bezalel, (born between 1512 and 1526, died 17 September 1609), widely known to scholars of Judaism as the Maharal of Prague, or simply The Maharal, the Hebrew acronym of "Moreinu Ha-Rav Loew" ("Our Teacher, Rabbi Loew"), was an important Talmudic scholar, Jewish mystic, and philosopher who, for most of his life, served as a leading rabbi in the cities of Mikulov in Moravia and Prague in Bohemia. Due to his unprecedented impact on Jewish study, he is considered one of the most important rabbis of all times.
